    MDM: State-of-the-art Email Editor needed!

Suggested by Folke DannemannPlanned Short Term 0
    Category: Marketing Execution

Please improve the MDM Email drag & drop Editor usability. Currently it is
    - unflexible (e.g. width of Content blocks)
    - fragile (users can easily "destroy" template specifications; there is not even and "undo" button)
    - not reliable (what you see is NOT what you get),
    - (most important) not transporting the feeling of "ease" to the user (usability).

The email function is one of the most used functions in a Marketing Automation System and though has a high Impact on Business (customer experience) and user acceptance.

Some single items (e.g. flexibility of Content blocks, style options, template Settings etc.) are specified in other connect Portal entries already.

This entry is more about making you aware of the need to work on the email Editor function massively. Please have a look at best-of-breed email solutions (e.g. Evalanche, Mailchimp, Emarsys…) and you will see the potential for optimization.

    Extend Email Design Functionalities

Suggested by PATRICK KEBEKUSPlanned Long Term 1
    Category: Marketing Execution

    Dear MS-Team,

please extend the email design functionalities.

    - Flexible adaption of column width.
Today it is only possible to choose between one column (100% width), 2 columns (50%/50%) or 3 columns (33%/33%/33%).
--> There is no possibility to e.g. split a 2 column section into two columns of 33% and 66%, they are always 50%/50%

    - Please extend the range of text colours from the basic 64 colours to a flexible RGB-editor. This is already available when styling the background colour of a column section. This is VERY important as many customers of ours need to be consistent with the Corporate Identity and therefore want to colour text parts in their specific brand colour.

    - Flexible positioning of images within a column.
Most of our customers want their footer to include often 4 or more logos with links to their social media profiles.
This is impossible to design as you cannot have more than 3 columns.
Suggestion: flexible quantity of columns and flexible positioning of contents.

Add more options to email editor styles: style for body text, headings 1-6 and different kind of links

Suggested by Mikko BergPlanned Long Term 0
    Category: Marketing Execution

At the moment it's possible to define style for the email message text and the email message links.

To increase ease of use, please add more options that administrators / more experienced users can define when creating email templates.

    These could be for example:

    - body text (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - heading 1 (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - heading 2 (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - heading 3 (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - heading 4 (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - heading 5 (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - heading 6 (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - link body (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - link plugin (font color, font weight, font size, font family)
    - CTA button (font color, font weight, font size, font family, button size, button color)

A Basic user only has to use the predefined styles / elements to create great looking emails that follow company guidelines. Administrator could possibly lock the styles used in a template to minimize the risk of error.

Suggested by VILLE VAINIKAINENPlanned Mid Term 1
    Category: Platform - Marketing

    Good features wish to have:
    - ability to control the Campaign flow depending on Lead Interaction Data (with custom Landing Page data)
    - ability to create dynamic lists depending on Lead Interaction Data
    - API for reading the Lead Interaction Data in structured format. Currently it's available only in HTML-formatted table. (By utilizing this API we could transfer the data to CRM)
    - Integrate (with MDM-Connector) the Lead Interaction Data to CRM for further processing

Lync webinars requires an on-premises Skype for Business Server or Lync Server installation

Suggested by Sapan TipnisPlanned Mid Term 1
    Category: Marketing Execution

Currently in Microsoft Dynamics Marketing old and new versions Skype for Business or Lync webinars requires an on-premises Skype for Business Server or Lync Server installation. The on-premises Skype for Business Server or Lync Server must be installed on the same domain that the customer uses to sign into there Office 365 portal.

The requirement of on-premises Skype for Business Server or Lync Server installation restricts the usage of Webinar feature for organizations not having on-premises environment. It would be recommended to have the Skype for Business or Lync webinars compatible with online Skype for Business Server or Lync Server installations.

There should be a option/feature in MDM to decide whether the contact that is synchrozing from CRM should be a marketing/client/vendor/staff contact

Suggested by Nicky PunjabiNot Planned 1
    Category: Integration with Dynamics 365

After MDM is successfully integrated with CRM, all the contacts that synchronise from CRM to MDM gets converted into marketing contact. If we want any CRM contact to be a client/vendor/staff contact in MDM, after the synchronization is complete , we need to navigate into marketing contact and open that particular contact record and convert it into Client/vendor/staff contact.

So if I have 1000+ contacts in CRM, it is not acceptable to convert each one of them into client/vendor/staff contact.

Example : If I want my CRM contact 'xyz' to be a client/vendor/staff contact in MDM, after the synchronization is complete , I need to navigate into marketing contact and open t'xyz' contact record and convert it into Client/vendor/staff contact.

    OBJECTIVE :
    ===================
There should be a option/feature in MDM to decide whether the contact that is synchrozing from CRM should be a marketing/client/vendor/staff contact

MDM: Marketing email activation and editing

    Suggested by POKKO LAAKSONENLaunched 1
    Category: Marketing Execution

Currenlty only the first version of the activated email is going to be sent to the receivers.
While you´re working with your campaign you should not be able to modify already activated email!

At the moment it is possible for the user to modify an email inside the campaign.

Problem : If you´ve already activated an email in your campaign, those changes you´re making after the activation of the email do NOT affect on the actual email which is going to be sent to the receivers.

If you are able to make changes the system should at least give a warning to the user!

In this case UI let´s you modify the activated email, which gives you a picture that you may actually modify the actual email which is going to be sent to the customers.

    MDM: Global email templates:

Suggested by Folke DannemannPlanned Long Term 0
    Category: Marketing Execution

    We need the Option
    - lock content blocks and their position (e.g. header, footer)
    - lock style Settings of email templates (users should only change content like text, links, images and not text font, image size etc.)

Purpose: Ensure corporate design / styleguide rules. If not granted by right users should not be able to edit certain parts (content blocks and overall style) of templates
